The importance of forgiveness in the field of interpersonal relationships

The diploma thesis deals with the meaning of forgiveness and restorative social processes. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the concept of forgiveness in various professional discourses and social work. The The diploma thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the concept of forgiveness from a theological point of view. The second chapter deals with the concept of forgiveness in ethical-philosophical, psychological and pedagogical discourse. The third chapter focuses on perpetrators and victims of crimes, how it is possible to work with them within the framework of social work. How is it possible to achieve forgiveness and reconciliation by connecting everyone who has been affected by criminal activity, therefore perpetrators, victims but also the whole society.

Dealing with the guilt of persons serving a sentence.

The diploma thesis deals with the ethical topic of guilt and its processing in persons serving a sentence. The paper elaborates with the topic of guilt on a practical and theoretical level. The theoretical framework deals with concepts related to guilt (morality, good, evil, conscience, sin), then presents the concept of guilt and the possibilities of its processing. Based on the description of the theory, the theoretical part formulates questions, which are used in the practical part. It describes three case studies of persons serving a sentence. The research is devoted to their individual perception of guilt and subsequently to ways of coping with it. Special attention is paid to Christianity and its influence on the perception of guilt, as two persons believe in God. Research shows that guilt is a fundamental issue for people in prison, whether it is in its negative or positive manifestations. The research confirms the fundamental theoretical starting point that there is a line from the negative effect of guilt to its positive contribution. As all three convicts confirm, guilt is the path to awareness, acceptance, and finally to the correction. The thesis deals with major relationships between ethics and social work with regard to the topic of forgiveness. Related terms as conscience, penitence, salvation and reconciliation are explained. The topic is discussed from philosophy, theology and psychology aspect. Philosophical concept includes specific views to forgiveness by some authors. Theological point of view is based on Christian concept. Different models of forgiveness from viewpoint of psychology and ways how to forgive are described. General attributes of social work and some target groups which social work is focused. The importance for persons in terminal stadium of life is mentioned. Own knowledges from work in retirement home are used.

This work deals with the symbolism of trees in the Old Testament considering the mythology of the ancient Near East, using relevant literature, concordant exploration, and synchronic and diachronic analyses of biblical texts. It aims to present an intersection of the most important aspects of the appearance of trees in the Scripture, both in a literal and figurative sense. Drawing on work with biblical and mythological texts from the ancient Near East, it presents the tree as a comprehensible symbol with strong explanatory power, which constitutes its potential to contain even the most complex messages of the Scripture and of the human condition as such.

The Confession in the Protestantism and its Historical Transformations

anglicky Annotation In my thesis I deal with the Confession in European nad especially Czech Protestantism, its conception, form and transformations in history. The focus of my work is to look at the Confession in the Reformation and its further development. The work is divided into four major chapters: (1) The Confession, (2) The Confession and reformers, (3) The Cofession and reformist religions, (4) The Confession of contemporary Protestantism. Each of these chapters is further divided into subsections. In conclusion I describe the effort to reintroduce private Confession as solid form of church life and I think about reasons why nowadays in Protestant churches private Confession used only sporadically. Requiem as a musical form and it's transformations in themusic of nineteenth and twentieth centuries

In this thesis, the evolution of the Requiem Mass throughout the centuries has been explored. The evidence provided clearly demonstrates the changes that the Requiem mass has gone through, from the first traditional Requiem mass all the way to the new Requiems of the Contemporary era. While early composers were inspired by religion, over time, a clear shift towards freedom of expression (war, human losses, tragic events) is evident. Requiems can be written for liturgical use and concert halls, and can be performed by choirs, soloists and orchestras (Acapella and Orchestral compositions). Requiems can have both short and long durations, and can have different textures (polyphonic style, homophonic style etc.). The traditional Latin language and religious texts are still widely used, however, there have been many changes throughout the centuries, such as the use of translations into different languages, the use of psalms, bible verses, poetry and famous speeches. Today, a large number of Requiems can be found from composers on a worldwide scale, including America, Europe and Great Britain.

Problem of Grace in St. Augustin

This bachelor thesis deals with St. Augustine and his theology of grace. It briefly introduces the context of Augustine's philosophy, explains the basic terms, and mainly focuses on the interpretation of Augustine's study of grace. It first analyses the thoughts and ideas of Saint Paul, the Apostle, which are relevant to the subject. Then it moves on to explaining the continuous development of Augustine's study of grace: how it is portrayed in his early works, the way in which it developed in his argument with Pelagius, and finally it introduces Augustine's most radical idea - the concept of predestination from his work To Simplician. The last part of the thesis covers the corresponding topic of love, specifically the love of neighbour, as it is discussed by Hannah Arendth in her work Love and Saint Augustine.
